This season was spent on developing new shock valve combinations for the '08 Nytro FX, and RTX. Both of these sleds work well in the bumps, with the biggest complaint being the stiff initial (low speed) valving. Our new valve packages give a much more compliant ride in the small bumps and stutters, while maintaining the bigger bump capability.

ABOUT PIONEER PERFORMANCE

Pioneer Performance is was founded by long time Yamaha specialist Bruce Schrader. He began racing Yamaha snowmobiles in 1978 and continued until 1998. Bruce started in the Yamaha after-market in 1983 with Bender Racing where he remained for 11 years. In 1994 he was hired to start a new company, Maxximum Performance, he was the driving force behind the companies technology and growth before leaving in the fall of 2000.

Bruce has been involved in suspension and shock service since the late 80's, at that time developing the specs for Fox-Yamaha after-market shocks. Yamaha introduced the aluminum bodied Kayaba shock on the '96 XT, from the start Bruce has been experimenting with them, because of his experience Pioneer Performance is an official service center for Yamaha Kayaba and Soqi (RX-1, Apex) shocks, and we also service Ohlins shocks.
